Announced in an official blog post, these cutting-edge updates are currently being piloted with select users in the U.S.. This is embodying YouTube’s relentless pursuit to elevate the viewing and learning experience through the power of artificial intelligence.

One of the standout innovations is the introduction of an AI-driven search results carousel. When users query topics like shopping, travel, or local adventures (imagine seeking the “best beaches in Hawaii”), YouTube may prominently showcase a scrollable carousel at the top of the results. 

This engaging carousel features carefully curated video clips, each accompanied by succinct descriptions that encapsulate the essence of the content. The primary aim of this feature is to empower users to uncover relevant insights faster, eliminating the need to sift through multiple videos. 

Currently available to select YouTube Premium members in the U.S., this functionality is exclusively tailored for English on the YouTube app for Android and iOS. According to The Verge, users can seamlessly access full videos by tapping on the highlighted clip at the top of the carousel. 

This thrilling testing phase is anticipated to continue until July 30. In addition to this enhanced search experience, YouTube is expanding access to its innovative conversational AI tool. Initially launched in 2023 and available exclusively to Premium subscribers. 

This feature enables users to pose questions about videos, receive personalized suggestions for related content, and even quiz themselves while indulging in educational clips.  Now, YouTube is thrilled to announce that select non-Premium users in the U.S. will also gain access to this feature under specific videos.
