BrightEdge just shared results from a big survey with over 750 marketers. The survey shows that 68% of companies are changing their strategies because of AI in search. Most of them are depending on their SEO teams to guide them through this shift.
More than half of the companies said their SEO and digital marketing teams are in charge of adapting to AI search. Only a small number gave this job to PR, tech, or leadership teams. This shows SEO teams are becoming even more important, not less.
Around 57% of marketers said they feel “cautiously optimistic” about AI in search. Many are trying new strategies, including working with platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. But 32% are still just watching and waiting to see what happens.
The study says it’s risky to rely only on SEO teams for AI search strategies. For better results, companies should also involve content creators, PR, and leadership. Working together can help create more complete and powerful AI search plans.
BrightEdge says it’s ready to help marketers win in both regular and AI-powered search. They’ve been doing this for 18 years and help huge companies make sense of search data. As AI keeps changing search, teamwork and smart tools will be key to staying ahead.
